Salvation

Grace is what saves you!  So what is grace?

Grace is defined as God’s unmerited favor.  Romans 6:14

What are we saved from?  Everyone has sinned against God.

What motivated God to forgive our sins?  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16  This verse means, God the Father initiated salvation.  Remember, there is one God, but he has represented himself in three persons.

The Biblical term for the whole world is propitiation which is a big word meaning he made a way for everyone to be saved, but unfortunately all will not receive his grace.  Salvation can be theological, but we have elected to make it simple and yet being accurate with the Bible.

The Gospel means Good News.  The Good News is; God became a perfect man without sin, took your sins upon himself, and died so that you may live.  This is how the Gospel works.  God the Father made a way to eternal life.  God the Son, Jesus Christ, is the way.  He is pictured as the gate or door to the narrow path that leads to eternal life.  God the Holy Spirit convicts you of your sins and leads you to Jesus Christ.

Jesus said; I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father accept through me.  John 14:6

The Bible states; you are saved by grace through faith, that is a gift and cannot be earned or bought.

If you want to be saved, this is what you need to do; repent, being truly sorry for your sins by turning from your sins and turning toward God.

Believe the second person of the the tri-unity of God came to this earth and took your sins upon himself.  The wages of sin is death; therefore, he had to die.

If you have sincerely repented and believe, you have received the gift of grace and therefore have been redeemed, brought back from your sins.

If you believe Jesus Christ is really God and he died in your place, you then need to be baptized, this is not infant baptism, but believer’s baptism.

You must tell others about the Good News.  Salvation is personal, from then on your sins are forgiven and as you live your new life, you will be motivated by the Holy Spirit to share the Good News with others.

If any may be in Christ, he or she is a new person, old things have passed away; all things have become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17
